Hover don’t rest
During my time observing many golfers, I've noticed a common yet overlooked aspect in putting - the initial position of the putter. Many golfers rest their putter fully on the ground before initiating their stroke. This seems natural, but it introduces a subtle challenge: the need to lift the putter before the backstroke. This lifting motion, although minor, often causes the putter to move slightly away from the player, disrupting the intended path of the stroke.
Here's a more effective approach: hovering the putter just above the ground, barely touching the grass. This method allows you to start your backstroke smoothly, without the need to lift the putter first. In a game where precision is key, and putting is extremely sensitive to any extra movements, this small adjustment can have a significant impact on your performance.
Next time you're on the green, try this technique. You might be surprised at how this simple change can enhance the consistency and accuracy of your putts.
