Tight hands, open clubface
When you tighten your left-hand grip through impact, you open your clubface causing slices.
An extended left-hand wrist (tight wrist) will open your clubface, while tightening the wrists can also cause the hands to lead through impact, opening the face even more.
It's important to maintain control of your grip pressure through impact, allowing your wrists to function properly and helping you square up the clubface at the crucial moment of contact.
