Speed swings, like vitamins for your golf game

I wanted to introduce you to a simple yet powerful, practice technique that can significantly enhance your swing performance. I call it - “Speed Swings."

Here's how it works:

What are Speed Swings? Take your driver and make swings as fast as you can, with a keen focus on the "swoosh" sound created where impact would typically occur. Try to increase the swoosh with each swing. Take about 10 -15 swings until you get to the point where you get a little tired or fatigued and do 3 - 4 sets of these.

**Please don’t do this if you’re doing to hurt yourself in the process.

Here's why incorporating speed swings into your golf training regimen can be a game-changer:

  1. Increased Swing Speed: Speed swings are designed to stretch out your swing, helping you achieve a bigger range of motion. As you progressively work on your speed swings, you'll find your swing speed gradually increasing. This added velocity can significantly impact the distance you cover on the golf course, giving you a competitive edge.

  2. Enhanced Balance: Maintaining balance during a golf swing is crucial for consistency and accuracy. Speed swings not only fine-tune your swing speed but also emphasize balance throughout the motion. By practicing speed swings regularly, you'll improve your stability and control over the club, leading to more accurate shots.

  3. Improved Swing Sequence: Speed swings require a precise and efficient sequence of movements. This focused training cultivates muscle memory, ensuring that your swing sequence is spot-on. Consistency in your swing sequence is essential for maintaining a high level of performance round after round.

  4. A Sense of Softness: One unique benefit of speed swings is the sense of softness they impart to your swing. As you get fatigued, you'll naturally become smoother and more fluid in your motion, which can be the key to reducing the strain on your body and maintaining peak performance over the long haul.

Incorporating speed swings into your practice routine can help you achieve a more powerful and controlled golf swing, leading to improved accuracy, distance, and overall performance.
